Complete with surround sound, this room is a perfect place for family movie night, but it is also pretty great for entertaining the kids and giving the grown-ups some time to visit.
Although you can hear the chorus of merriment outside, you take a moment to close the plantation shutters in the living room before heading down the hall to the kitchen. The open concept allows you see that the big game is already on. But you’ve got to check on the food! You turn around and take out the wings warming in the top oven and neatly place them on top of the raised granite counter, making for an ideal buffet line. The pizzas you just brought home will perfectly flank the wings, salad, and cheese dip. Time to round up the troops to eat, but not before checking on the brownies you left baking in the bottom oven. “Mmmm” the smell of chocolate wafting into the air brings the children sock skating into the hallway, grabbing for plates and pizza.
Outside, several of your guests are enjoying the game in the outdoor living space, while others are gathered around the built in BBQ chatting and passing libations. The extended patio keeps everyone well shaded and temperatures cool. Suddenly… CANNONBALL!!!! Water splashes the dog sun bathing on the artificial grass. Laughter erupts as he shakes himself dry and you announce, “the food is ready.”
After an afternoon of cheers, boo’s, and the joy of friends, family, and football, you’re glad to have a quiet evening at home. As much as you love that your new home has the space for fun gatherings and a backyard perfect for entertaining, you also can enjoy the tranquility of an uneventful evening at home.
